Over 50 pages of duets for tenor and bass trombone,

The duets are all based on the harmonies of some well known classical themes. Ilja took the chord-progressions and composed new melodies over it. For each duet he selected a particular Jazz rhythm, allowing classical and jazz players to familiarize themselves with all kinds of jazz timing and styles. The Classic Standard is meant to encourage classical and jazz players to play together and explore both classical performance and Jazz phrasing (no improvised parts, only written music).
